Future Plans for SOLUS

With I9 coming up, we thought it would be a good idea to get out the word on what's come to mind and what's been requested for the base and the group.

First and foremost, our plan is to add whatever equipment is necessary for the Inventions as soon as I9 goes live.  My understanding from what I've read on the boards is that while workbenches will be publicly available, having access to a private one will be a huge plus for those who want to play with the system.

For those of you who plan to check out I9 when the beta is opened up for everyone, let me know if you have characters (on any server) you plan to copy to Test and use to play with the invention system.  We do have a SOLUS base over on Test which I've been using to try out floorplans and such, and as soon as it's opened up, I'll add what's needed to that base for invention construction.

Most of you probably know this, but you can't just put whatever you want into a room -- each room type has a certain limit.  For example, a regular workroom (which is what we have) allows 2 worktables and 9 storage units; other rooms will allow one storage unit, you can only put teleporters into a teleporter room, etc.

Therefore, depending on space, we MAY have to drop one of our existing worktables until we expand the base again and get a second workroom.  However, given that the buff builders do act as rudimentary worktables themselves, I don't see this as a real problem.  Again, however, this is just a guess; we won't have any hard information until the beta opens up to everyone on test.

Second, we'd like to see about offering more opportunities for task forces and shared events (i.e. the new and improved Hamidon, whatever that will be) since those are what will apparently supply the most invention salvage.  (Again, this is just from what I've read on the boards, so obviously, that's subject to change.)  Our biggest need is for people who would be willing to run an additional SG event during the week, just so we can share the time commitment.   We'll also see what our coalition partners will be able to provide on this end.

Overall:  We're in great shape.  There's really not much that a non-raid base can get that we still need or could even use - we've got all the teleporters, we've got the auto-doc, we've got the worktables and buff builders.  We also have the Mega Monitor and an advanced database built and ready to install when we need additional control (which we don't, as yet.)

Our greatest need right now is for base space, largely so we can add some more storage units.  The next base expansion costs approximately 3.3 million.  You can check to see the current amount the group has in the 'bank' by going to the SG screen (that's the in-between screen if you're going to change the colors on your costume.)  The good news is, thanks to the huge drop in rent, savings will accumulate a lot faster than they once did!

In addition to more storage space, people have put in bids to see another workroom and a social room.  If anyone has anything else they'd like to see, please let us know either in a tell, by game e-mail to Azure or Cap, or here on comments.

We also have only two SG badges we need which can do us some good: one is the badge for time spent in PvP zones, and the other is for healing.  The first badge will allow us to upgrade our power generator (if needed; thus far, it is not necessary), and the second will let us build a little addition to the robo-doc which will dispense breakfrees as well as greens and blues, and allow the robo-doc to purchase *all* inspirations back, not just all Tier II and III's and blues and greens.  Nifty (although obviously, we're doing fine with the inspiration storage).

So, if any of you are planning to go badge hunting in one of the PvP zones, or working on a time-spent badge in a PvP zone, if you can make sure you're in SG mode while doing it, it would be appreciated.  The PvP zones which will contribute to this badge are Bloody Bay, Siren's Call, Warburg and Recluse's Victory -- I could be wrong, but I don't think that the Arena will help.  We need to spend a total of 50 hours in PvP zones in order to get the badge, and I'm guessing from the looks of the bar we need two to three hours, max.

Also, anyone with a heal power - if you can do it in SG mode (even if you hop right back out again), any and all work to that end would be appreciated.   To give you some perspective, this third healing badge is for 100,000,000 points of healing in SG mode.  The first two we earned (which allowed us to have the auto-doc and the robosurgeries) were for 5,000,000 and 25,000,000 points, respectively.  The third badge isn't an easy badge to earn, but working together, we can manage.  We're over a quarter of the way to it, so that's some great progress.

Please feel free to add comments or contact us if you have any ideas or things you'd like to see.
